Greater Johnstown School District hosted the PMEA District 6 Band Festival on January 10-12. Ellie Speigle, Lydia Hostetter, and Shiloh Swart represented JCSl. After many hours of rehearsing, the festival concluded with a fantastic concert on Friday evening displaying the wonderful musical talents of the students in our area. Ellie Speigle placed well enough to advance onto the Region Band Festival which will be held at Bald Eagle Area School District at the end of February. Dr. Zach Cheevers, an Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Athletic Bands at IUP, was the guest conductor. Dr. Cheevers had nothing but great things to say about the students he was able to work with.
