PMEA District 6 Band Festival

JCS asked to participate in NAEP
The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) is the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what our nation’s students know and can do in various subjects such as mathematics, reading, science, and writing. The results of NAEP are released as The Nation’s Report Card. Seniors will participate in this assessment on Wednesday, Feb. 6
Book Jays
JCS BookJays participated in the IU8 Reading Competition held on Wednesday, December 5. The team scored 58 points, earning them a 1st place ribbon! Somerset All-County Band
Fourteen students represented JCS at Somerset All-County Band held November 28-29 at Somerset High School. A concert was performed Thursday night at 7 pm with guest conductors Mr. Roger Johnston, retired Elementary Band Director from Meyersdale and Dr. Shannon Shaker from Frostburg State University.
County Chorus Festival
Eight students represented JCS at the Somerset County Chorus Festival held at Berlin High School on November 19 and 20.
