PMEA District 6 Band Festival was held January 23-25 at Forest Hills High School. Seniors Lorna Speigle and Felix Wang participated and both will be advancing to the regional level. The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) is the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what our nation’s students know and can do in various subjects such as mathematics, reading, science, and writing. The results of NAEP are released as The Nation’s Report Card. Seniors will participate in this assessment on Wednesday, Feb. 6
JCS BookJays participated in the IU8 Reading Competition held on Wednesday, December 5. The team scored 58 points, earning them a 1st place ribbon! Fourteen students represented JCS at Somerset All-County Band held November 28-29 at Somerset High School. A concert was performed Thursday night at 7 pm with guest conductors Mr. Roger Johnston, retired Elementary Band Director from Meyersdale and Dr. Shannon Shaker from Frostburg State University.
